Professional Development: First Hands Solutions 2023

Anindilyakwa artists and arts workers, Jeanelle Mamarika and Sheanah Shakita Marawili took part in this year’s art centre professional development with artworkers from art centres across Australia.  

Coordinated by First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation, the artists took part in a large-scale fabric printing workshop with Publisher Textiles, had a tour of the new Art Gallery of NSW Yiribana Gallery and undertook a hands on digital media workshop, Transforming and reimagining Indigenous Storytelling, with gallery staff. The following day, arts workers participated in a painting workshop with award winning contemporary artist, Wendy Sharp, in her studio, before attending the opening of their group exhibition, Heart in Art, at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf.
