06 August 2022
Audit House, National Trust, Myilly Point| Darwin NT
Facilitated by Agency Projects, the inaugural UNTOLD Darwin was presented with support from Salon Art Projects and the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, and brought together leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, creatives, cultural leaders and academics for a weekend of Indigenous-led conversation, exchange and connection.
Designed to deepen understanding, demonstrate interconnectedness and broaden awareness, UNTOLD Darwin invited to explore a diverse range of topics with esteemed Indigenous speakers from across Australia.
Danjibana Noeleen Lalara joined a panel of female artists for storytelling, discussion and exchange around traditional and contemporary weaving practices. Focusing on the importance of intergenerational learning, knowledge exchange and strengthening community, Danjibana spoke about the importance of new and old-ways weaving within Anindilyakwa Arts and how the art centre programming supports women of all ages culturally, socially and financially across the archipelago.
