Conference: World Indigenous Tourism Summit (WITS) 2023

Travelling as part of the ALC Preserving Culture delegation, Anindilyakwa Arts attended the annual World Indigenous Tourism Summit (WITS) to learn more about culture-led tourism experiences and explore the viability of regular art centre workshops and tours as requested by art centre members.  

The three-day conference platformed indigenous voices from around the globe and included speakers and delegates from a variety of industries within the broader tourism sector. The summit explored the role that Indigenous values can play in building tourism ventures that are sustainable, culturally appropriate, and allow for the equitable development of Indigenous economies.
