Community Collaboration: GEBIE Gang

Angurugu Art Centre is glad to welcome the young women’s GEBIE Gang into our space. Joining us for Bush Dye, the young women are learning first hand from our senior women and art and culture staff, building their skills from working on small Bush Dye items to some large, exciting projects the art centre has in the works!  

GEBIE Gang engages early and recent school leavers, helping them to learn and build skills in a social and culturally safe environment. The art centre team loves having GEBIE Gang in our art centre, Art and Culture Officer, Charmaine Kerindun, commented, “it is the good the girls can join us and learn our skills. We want to pass this knowledge on to them and they can come laugh, relax and earn some money too.”
