Finding the colour – Bush Peach

A new range of bush peach hues are available through the website - we wanted to share with you where the peachy pink colour is found.

Mamaburra (Bush Peach Tree) is found across Groote Eylandt. Kids love to eat the fruit from the tree, shaking the tree to make the ripe fruit fall. Mamaburra bark is also bush medicine, helping to soothe skin problems. Some of our friends at Bush Medijina use bush peach to make soaps & balms for the body.

When Mamaburra bark is boiled, the rich redness of the bark released. In bush dyeing, this draws peachy tones, from a soft blush pink to a deep earthy maroon.
