My name is Kriselda,I was born in Gove and I live at Malkala outstation on Groote Eylandt with my husband and daughters. My grandmother was my teacher, she taught me on how to weave baskets with pandanus and collect shells during low tide to make necklaces.
My grandmother taught me a lot by going out on country, one of this was collecting different types bush medicine and taught us our to use the bush medicine.
Through my grandmother teachings I am now getting involved with the art centre and passing my skills into making different things, pandanus, baskets, shell necklace and using the ghost net that is being washed up around our Island.
My dream is to pass on my experience and knowledge to my daughters
